I missed doing my blog because ive been busy doingmy accelerated math because we need ten objectives by the end of the day and im stuck on word problems. I dont understand them. I understanded what we were doing before but now i dont know. I hope this doesnt effect my mark.

Reflections sept.24
Today in math class my knowledge was increased on how to solve by elimination. I know have 5 objectives and i need ten before friday. I also learned today that i need to stop mixing up my + and - 's. I did not complete #4 or #9. I hope the next math class is as productive as this one.

Reflections sept.21
Today in math i learned an easier way to solve linear equations. The method goes like this: here is an example.
l1: 2x+6y=12 (x4)
l2: 3x+4y=14(x6)
-------------------------
l1: 8x+20y=48
l2:18x+20y=84
-------------------------
26x =132
x = 106

Today mr. maksumchuk showed us the steps in solving by substitution. These are the steps;
step 1: solve for y by using the equation with the coefficient of 1 next to the y.
step 2:find the value of x by using your findings for solving for y.
step 3:once you have found the value of x use it to find the value of y.
Step 4: check to see if your answers are correct by plugging in the x and y values to get the same answer as you did while solving the equations.
I think that is how the steps go. I understand how to do it but its hard to put it into words.

Reflections sept.16
If i had to write the exam tommorrow there is no doubt that i would fail. Since grade 10 applied i feel like i didnt really learn the right amount of information that i was supposed to and now Im really noticing that its beginning to become a problem. i was never good at math but i didnt want to be lazy like other students that just want to take the easy way out and do consumer. Sometimes i wish i would have but i know that you more then likely would never get into a college with consumer. When im in math class i get frustrated becuase i cant seem to understand anything and it seems like everyone else does. I probably won t do very well on the homework tonight but i will try. So far ive learned........to graph equations without using a calculator.

In math class today we did our first mental math for the year. I couldn't seem to think straight when i was trying to think of the answers and i remembered doing the solution stuff on friday but couldnt remember the answers. Im nervous to start accelerated math tommorrow because when i was looking it over today i couldnt even figure out the first question. hopefully i can figure out the answer for it tommorrow.

Reflections- sept.11
My daily math reflection for today is in math I learned that y=x no matter what and I also learned the reasoning of why and how. I remember learning this in grade 10 applied. we also did goals on our blogger accounts.
Reflection goals
I only have 2 goals and they both have to do with my marks!
- Have all my cosmetology marks to be over 70.
- Pass applied math with a mark of 60 or higher.
